Technology has evolved with huge leaps and bounds in the last few decades. If you look back at some things that were hugely popular twenty or so years ago, you’ll have a hard time finding any of them right now. Either they’ve changed so much you can’t recognize them, or they’ve been replaced with technology that’s just better in every way.
Let’s take a look at some of the technological relics of the past that most modern kids probably wouldn’t recognize.
A Real Alarm Clock
One of the things people simply couldn’t live without and that has been fully replaced by a feature that’s become standard in all cellphones. We no longer need to have a mini heart attack each morning just to get out of bed for work.

A Floppy Disk
That’s right, that nifty “save” button has an actual origin! Back in the day, when having 32 mb of RAM was all the rage, floppy disks were how we stored all that important data. 1,4 megabytes of it. And just a handful of these was enough to create a backup of your entire computer.

A Paper Map
It’s like Google Maps, only that you can have severe wear and tear on them and they don’t tell you where to go on their own. And don’t even get me started on trying to fold those big boys back together after unfolding it and spending 20 minutes trying to figure out where you are.
